Construction of six mining and data centers for $5 billion has begun in Karakalpakstan

The implementation of six large projects in the field of digital technologies has begun in Karakalpakstan - three mining and three data centers. Their total value is $5.11 billion.

About thisreportedChairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan Amanbay Orynbayev at the ceremony of commissioning new facilities with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to Orynbaev, the created conditions allow the region to pay more attention to the quality of investments and ongoing projects.

Previouslyreportedthat a special mining zone, Besqala Mining Valley, will be created in Karakalpakstan. According to the presidential decree, its territory will cover the entire region. In the zone, it is allowed to use electricity from the unified energy system, renewable sources and hydrogen power plants for mining.

A tax benefit is provided for residents of the zone: their income from mining activities is exempt from taxes and fees until January 1, 2035. Also, a special directorate should be created to work in the zone, and the National Agency for Prospective Projects is responsible for issuing mining permits.

Crypto assets obtained as a result of mining can be sold through national crypto exchanges and foreign platforms or exchanged for other liquid crypto assets.
